January 2021: Self-isolation policy for Admissions to The Portland Hospital
For Day Case admissions: Please note that your child, and the parent attending with them, must self-isolate for 7 days prior to admission.
For overnight stay admissions: Your child, and the parent attending with them, must self-isolate for 14 days prior to admission.
If your child requires an operation, Angela will be able to provide the relevant procedure codes and fees, etc, to pass on to your insurers. If you are self-paying, Angela will be able to provide the hospital fees as well.
Once Mr Hartley’s clinic letter has been typed Angela will send you formal admission details. This sets out the following:

Please note that only one parent is allowed in the hospital with the patient during the admission. For admissions to The Portland Hospital, the hospital require the patient to have 2 pre-operative (negative) COVID swabs – the first swab 7-9 days before admission (this can be done at a local testing centre) and the second swab 3 days before the admission (this to be done at the Hospital). The PreAssessment Nurses will be in touch with you direct to arrange these.
