Inpatients / Admissions

Admissions to The Portland Hospital
Pre-operative assessments are done remotely by The PreAssessment Nurses (020 7182 7709 or 020 7390 6228). This is done via telephone consultation appointment – they will contact you direct with a booking.

Both parents are allowed to attend with their child but only one parent is allowed to stay in hospital for an overnight admission.

Admissions to Great Ormond Street Hospital
Patients must attend the Hospital for a pre-operative assessment 1-2 days before admission. The Hospital will contact you directly with appointment times and details.

Both parents are allowed to attend with their child but only one parent is allowed to stay in hospital over an overnight admission.

Operations

If your child requires an operation, Angela/Maria will be able to provide the relevant procedure codes and fees, etc, to pass on to your insurers.

If you are self-paying, we will get a quote from the relevant hospital for you.

NB: Both The Portland Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital require settlement of their fees prior to admission. Mr Hartley also requires settlement of his fees prior to admission.
The Anaesthetist will either invoice you following your child’s admission to The Portland Hospital, or his fees will be included with the fees of Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Once Mr Hartley’s clinic letter has been typed you will be sent formal admission details by email. This sets out the following:

  • Date of admission
  • Time of arrival at hospital:
11:30-12:30 (Portland) or 07:30 (Great Ormond Street Hospital)
